PROBLEMS WITH THE RIBCAGE OR DIAPHRAGM;

Ribs surround and protect the organs in the chest, so they’re like Sentinels, guarding your inner being. If you have bruised or broken ribs, you need to ask yourself if you have “let your guard down” and allowed someone to get closer than you would prefer, or perhaps you are feeling vulnerable or exposed. At the base of the sternum (breastbone) it’s a tender place of sadness that connects you to your emotional heart.

The RIB CAGE.

The ribs have to do with boundaries and limitations, ask yourself

are you clear about boundaries, about how far you want to go and how much you give.

Do you try to please everyone and fail to look after yourself in the process thus going beyond your capabilities,

Do you need to be more protective with your feelings so you are not abused or misused.

THE DIAPHRAGM

A large flat muscle in the chest, position below the lungs, the diaphragm is essential for the breathing process. It enables you to breathe in deeply and take life into yourself and in releasing that breath, to let go of tension or stress. A stiff diaphragm that causes shallow or restricted breathing, create a block between the upper realms of thought and mental activity and the lower realms of emotion intuition and sexual energy.

Difficulties here indicate A resistance or fear of sharing your deepest feelings. By drawing a line here, you can keep your more intimate personal issues separate from the world. Control and power issues are also focused here, especially control over others. Deep belly breathing relaxes the diaphragm, relinquishes the need for control, and releases any feelings that are being held back.
